70 per cent reduction in boiler thefts

17 June 2016 Boiler thefts from council houses in Sheffield have reduced by 70 per cent as a result of joint council and police action. In 2013 Sheffield City Council reported that 209 central heating boilers had been stolen from vacant council homes costing £287,000 to replace. Now figures show that thefts dropped to 68 last year.
